The latest census news says that 18% of households in Fairfield County, CT are considered to be in the top 5% of the wealthiest in the country. But, not everyone is part of that 18%/5% crowd. My 12-year-old son and I took part in what turned out to be such a miraculous event today. The Fairfield Beach Clean Up, organized by three friends via Facebook, grew to 1,000 volunteers who gathered at Jennings Beach and were dispersed to various beach neighborhoods to help homeowners clean up their ravaged yards. It was an eye-opener for my son, who knew the homeowner’s grandson at the home we were sent to for clean-up, and was saddened by what had happened to their house.
We’ve been quiet for a while in light of extreme weather events and other happenings. We’ll be in touch with exciting news next week!
